St. Theresa Catholic School- Newsletter, June 2008

Dear Parents,

I pray that you have a blessed and safe summer. I hope you will have the opportunity to have some wonderful family time. There are some details that I want to make everyone aware of before we leave
for summer.

Please make sure that you have arranged for the summer drafts to begin in June by turning in
the draft form to the office by Tuesday. If you have questions, please come and see us. If you are
making a different arrangement for tuition payment, please remember that payments to be made
for the total annual tuition or by semester must be made by June 20th.

The school offices will be open from May 27th through June 13th. Please call ahead, if you
need an appointment, because we will sometimes be working away from the office or running
errands. I will be available for appointments until the end of June, if you need me, just call and
leave a message on the school phone. I will check it regularly and call you back. I will be unavailable
from July 7th until August 7th. As many of you know, I will be traveling to Africa to visit my son and his
wife. I will be there for the birth of my first grandchild. I am very excited about the trip, but I have never
been away  from home that long or out of contact with my school. Mrs. Krueger will also be out of town
during July and early August, because she is having a new grandbaby, also! Mrs. Hood has agreed to
help us out by being available at school beginning August 4th, and she can accept messages for me
and assist you with paper work. If payments need to be made while the office is closed, you may leave
those at the church office with Mrs. King. I am urging everyone to please take care of school business
early in June, and not to wait until right before school starts next year. Mrs. Lambert will be in charge of summer care again this year. We have John Klais and Vanessa Mazurek helping her during the days.
It sounds like they have a lot of fun activities planned! If you have not signed up, we still have some
openings; please check with Mrs. Lambert for registration information. The summer program begins
on Tuesday. It opens at 6:45 and closes at 5:30. We have added another vender for our uniforms. The
Toggery will also be providing our uniforms. A price list for both the Toggery and School Days is
attached to this letter.    Please don't let your child take a break from learning this summer. Get him/her
involved with the local library, and read, read, read! It is the best activity you can encourage to help
young minds stay active. It is also good to do some Math activities. These can be as simple as making
change at the grocery store, helping figure expenses for a trip, or planning a budget with allowance money. Summer is a great time to relax and see new sites. I hope you all get that opportunity with your
family.     Summer is also not a time to take a vacation from God. He does not take one from you!
Please continue to pray with your children and make weekly Mass attendance a priority. One of the
great things about being Catholic is that there is a Catholic church near almost every vacation location.
Yes, I will even have one I will attend in Ndola, Zambia. Of course, while I am there, only one Mass on
Sunday is in English, the rest will be in Bimba. Thankfully, the order of the Mass is the same worldwide
and in any language, so I'll still know what is happening. Even when I am far away, I will think of you and
pray for you. Please pray for me and our faculty and staff, as well.

I will look forward to seeing you all again at the end of the summer. Remember, Meet Your
Teacher will be on August 14th from 4 to 7, and the first day of school is August 18th.

Yours in Christ,

Marguerite Olberts
